A layer of granola fused in with ice-cold acai blend and topped up with fresh, vibrant coloured fruits - if this does not make you Say Yas, I don’t know what will.

Acai might be the most raved about in Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) ever since Say Yas opened, but they have much more to offer!
Started up by three passionate young ladies: Aye Chan Pyu Shin Angeline, Shania Tay and Celine Cho Yu Ling, they never expected that a casual talk in class about opening a cafe would turn into reality one day.

At Say Yas, drinks like the matcha latte are all served without straws. When mentioned how plant-based straws are sold at just $0.10 to create an environmentally friendly culture, Natalie was pleasantly surprised. This initiative along with the sale of metal straws was all part of Celine’s idea. As said by Angeline, she’s an ‘enthusiast’ for the environment.
Basically, the three of us love food. Let’s say it was like a puzzle piece!
Celine is very eco-friendly and there was a time when I was very obsessed with healthy food, so I think that’s when the theme of eco-wellness came in and Shania is here to brew them all together!”

Natalie Ng (@natfatdiaries), a food blogger who has garnered a following of close to 900 on Instagram, came down to see the hype behind our campus’s well-loved stall!

“The avocado taste is pretty subtle and personally the kimchi taste was a bit overwhelming. But if you’re a kimchi fan, it’s probably what you’re going for.
Given something mushy like avocado & kimchi, you might want to have a different texture to it. The kimchi & avocado doesn’t seem to complement each other but if you like it, good for you!”

yoghurt
“Everything looks very pretty. I like how it’s not very sweet. And the peanut butter powder reminds me of injeolmi (Korean powdered dried beans).
The apple slices give the yoghurt its sweetness and it’s really crispy. I’m a big fan of these two flavours, so this works really well for me!
I’m a ‘kinda’ health-conscious person...so this is definitely a yay for me.”

"...I am actually surprised that for something school-based, you can get such good quality acai and great snacks in this cafe!"
“Acai here is not very sweet as compared to Project Acai & Haakon. Those places add a lot of apple juice but over here, you can watch your sugar intake.
The texture of the acai is on par with other places so I am actually surprised that for something school-based, you can get such good quality acai and great snacks in this cafe!”

ICED MATCHA LATTE
“Not very sweet which is good! You get the very strong matcha flavour and especially if you appreciate matcha, you would love this!
Also, they added just the right amount of milk, which is great! When I go to matcha cafes, I will see if there’s too much milk added or how sweet it is as these two factors usually affect the authenticity of the matcha flavour. The taste is just right.
The only thing is that it was a little diluted so perhaps too much ice or water was added, the proportions could be improved!”
